I used terminals from lowes and soldered the wires in with a torch. The terminals the stereo shop gave me were "universal" I guess, and the wire wasn't snug to begin with. So when I crimped it, it smashed the terminal out everywhere. I am going to redo it all with proper terminals today.

JT&T Products offers a complete selection of copper lugs. So I got the idea to do the big three today, and I went to buy the ring terminals for 1/0 gauge wire. I asked the guy at the stereo shop if it was better to crimp or solder the terminals on. Solder doesn't make the best mechanical connection, but makes a better electrical one. Crimping make a good mechanical connection, but oxidation can compromise the electrical connection over time.
